Soon enough it becomes apparent that the mental state of our writer is also not in the best of shapes.
The unnamed narrator only seems to be able to see this after a lot of bizarre behaviors on his part. A lot of the current situations and buzzwords are thrown about here in a tongue-in-cheek way, but ultimately this book was a bit like a puzzle where all the parts don’t quite fit together properly and there were a lot of blind leaps that were hard to believe. 3.5⭐️
Instead of an independent residency, the protagonist learns (condescendingly) from the current director that his activities are closely monitored, and there are petty policies like where he yaşama work: only at the public Workspace, intensifying his discomfort with these illogical rules (that’s the Kafka-esque point of entry).
